My slice of heaven

2021 BOOKS

"It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone. " -- Rose Kennedy

“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. ”  -- Plato

“The life of the dead is set in the memory of the living. ”  -- Marcus Tullius Cicero

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love. ”  -- Washington Irving

“We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing our own skin.”  -- André Berthiaume

“I am an invisible man. No I am not a spook like those who haunted Edgar Allen Poe: Nor am I one of your Hollywood movie ectoplasms. I am a man of substance, of flesh and bone, fiber and liquids - and I might even be said to possess a mind. I am invisible, simply because people refuse to see me.”  -- Ralph Ellison

“Without knowledge, life is no more than the shadow of death.”  -- Molière

“Everyone calls himself a friend, but only a fool relies on it: nothing is commoner than the name, nothing rarer than the thing.”  -- Jean de La Fontaine

“Beware, so long as you live, of judging men by their outward appearance.”  -- Jean de La Fontaine

Hell's Knights (The MC Sinners, #1) by Bella Jewel

Hell's Knights - Bella Jewel

It started out a bit rocky for me, because Cade received

a blowjob and was about to hit it with one of the biker club chicks.

(show spoiler)

But when he saw Addison watching he pulled back and ran after her.

However I could overlook that pretty fast, because of all the emotions her past brought and how she acted. I really liked the writing style, it felt very engaging and I couldn't stop turning the pages. It was also an interesting way of having her past served. I quite liked it actually and I hope to see more of this from her other books.

I liked Addison, Cade and Jackson a lot, not to mention Spike - I can't wait to read his book. Part of his past was disclosed in this book.

Uh and I loved the caveman act, which was a pretty nifty feat, because I don't like assholes.
