I really liked Honor and her moral as well as her passion for what her duties entailed.
Some of the pages came of really dry, especially the sections with the technical stuff. What really made me enjoy this book was what transpired after the arrival at the Basilisk Station. The action prior that read as some kind of exercise and I'm loath to admit I'm not sure what was going on (even now, I may have to reread that part), whether it was just some training or real?
However what happened was that Honor got a lucky strike and after that failed to impress her superior and thus got sent to Basilisk Station.
The book IMO only improved after that and I liked seeing Honor really stepping it up.
The switching POV's took a bit for me to get used to, but that's because I'm primarily an 1 POV throughout a book kinda fan. I think I may have to broaden my horizon in that sense.
(show spoiler)I'll continue this series in the hopes some of the dryness will get better as the series progress. I would rate this a Med Sci-Fi.
Oh and the treecat is pretty awesome - I want one of those lol.
